3 things I've learned in the mountains

Hey you! In February, I had the most wonderful time at the mountain coaching getaway. I had been cherishing this for a while, planning, putting together, and seeing it finally come to pass filled me with gratitude. Gratitude for God and all He has placed inside of me. I had to pinch myself multiple times and remember that this is really what I do!

The group sessions, the 1 on 1 sessions, the food! (Thank you to my dear friend Chef Roude) , the nature, the relaxation and more have all made this coaching retreat a wonderful time. I will be thinking about this time at the cabin often that's for sure. You know what the best part of all of this is, the connections I get to make and the people I get to meet. Truly, this is a blessing I do not want to take for granted. Yes I pour a lot but I also receive a lot from them sharing their experiences.

Here are 3 things I've learned from the group (whether they know it or not):

1. God truly gives us our daily bread

There are things people go through that make us wonder "How are you still standing?". However, despite the unimaginable and horrible, here they are, breathing and choosing to take care of themselves and growing through the pain at this retreat. This, to me is so inspiring and gives me faith that, no matter what we go through, even when we cannot see it, there is always light at the end of the road. (and even on the road). One of the attendees has inspired me more than she will ever know. God is truly a God who comforts us in our afflictions. I know that for her, the best is yet to come.

2.What you have learned until now is not all there is

Witnessing someone go from seeing things one way, then to seeing these same things a whole different way is inspiring. I've seen people go from lost, not knowing which way to turn, to now having a sense of direction. Nothing is eternal. Seasons of confusion do not last when you have the right tools. Your old ways won't always work for the new season and because of this, perspective is key. Just like the theme of the coaching trip to Costa Rica in 2022 said: "Sometimes, all you need is a getaway in a beautiful place to figure things out".

3. I NEED A RETREAT TOO! HAHA

I took a personal retreat in April for 2 nights and it has been life changing! But I've also been feeling for a while that I want to go somewhere where I am just an attendee. Seeing them gain clarity for their visions, life and projects from the conversations and workshops made the feeling even stronger. Sometimes, It takes having someone outside of yourself ask the right questions for things to fall into place. That being said, this is something I am going to look into and spend time intentionally planing for. Btw, if you know of any retreats of that sort that fit my profile, please feel free to suggest!
